      James S. Mcdonnel Scholars Award in Understanding Human Cognition
      This $600,000 award funds Dr. Bukach's research on the factors underlying the way we categorize the world, including studies on racial bias. Through this award, Dr. Bukach offers student fellowships that provide students summer fellowships and paid research opportunities during the academic year. 

      National Science Foundation grant PURSUE: Preparing Undergraduates for Research in STEM Using Electrophysiology
      Dr. Bukach directs a multi-institutional initiative to develop open-source educational materials to train students in cognitive electrophysiology, a method that measures human brain activity through electrodes placed on the scalp.  This grant provides students with summer fellowships as well as paid research opportunities during the academic year.  It also provides a large database for students to test authentic research questions on a broad range of topics.
